Daycare – check!
How you know you’ve found the right daycare:
a. It’s located about 1.5 blocks from your mother’s house and a 5-minute drive from your home
b. When you called yesterday, the director’s voice made you think of your godmother, Grace
c. She tells you no problem for the March 2010 waiting list
d. When you arrive for this morning’s tour, the sound of kids screaming with joy outside in the playground makes you smile big time
e. You are right, the director is a kind, black woman and there is much ethnic diversity throughout the large facility
f. The baby room manager is a kind woman, very into child care and welfare
g. All the babies look very happy and healthy and are very busy with activities and group play
h. The manager gets VERY excited when you tell her you have adopted your daughter and she is eager to do some research on internationally adopted kids and looks forward to charting your daughter’s progress next to other babies her age
i. The director also gets very excited and mentions another baby joining in March is adopted (from India)
j. The director feels so good that she decides to not wait and gives you the parent registration and information package right there and then, instead of waiting until February
k. You feel rather verklempt with joy from the whole experience and know that your daughter is going to love coming to this place
l. You feel confident because you are also on another waiting list in case this one falls through for whatever reason
Wow, sounds like an amazing place!
That is AWESOME. Yay!
(Also, I am quite amused by the “possibly related post” listed… Indonesian woman gives birth to 19.2 pound jumbo baby?? Well ok then.)
Perfect.
What a relief!!! I know I feel so at ease when I leave Pacey at her “school” each day, so I know how happy you must be!!
That’s wonderful, Haze. The only daycare we will use is actually in Canada. It sounds a lot like yours with the exception that our director is Metis. They’re so wonderful, and when I started this mommy thing, I never dreamt I’d be pro-daycare. But quality daycares are wonderful places for your kid to be. Ours doesn’t take kids until they’re 18 months old, though, so I have a few more months to go (and a passport to secure in the meantime). With winter looming, I can’t wait (-:
YAY Hazel! Great job checking it out already.
Sounds wonderful!
YEAH! Awesome Hazel!
Um….thinking we might move to Calgary! That daycare sounds AWESOME!!
That is awsome Hazel!
That sounds like WONDERFUL news!! Do you not get 9 months in AB??? I thought that was Canada wide? Oops bad me!! It truly sounds wonderful Haze, so happy you found it!
Oh yeah, you get 9 months (37 weeks) but it’s unpaid!
whoa. that is amazing, Haze! sounds perfect.
You sound like you got a rocking spot!
Wonderful, Hazel! Biset will be well cared for and you’ll have great peace of mind. All is well!
Wow, sounds amazingly perfect. Yeah for you and Biset! What a relief I’m sure.
Sounds perfect! Where do I sign up? The commute will be a little rough for me, but it sounds worth it.
Awesome possum!!! Way to go!!!
I’m so glad you found this place, Hazel. Little Biset needs the best when you need to be working and this place sounds amazing.
Now let’s just get those visas done!
I’m looking forward to chatting with you later.
Ramona
Wow!! That’s a big item off the checklist.
Is this real? You didn’t wake up after visiting there? I am so jealous. Congratulations!
